I'm having the same exact problem! I'll just have listened to the song a day ago and it'll come back on! It makes me feel like I'm going insane!
@lilymurphy18 yes it drove me insane, two days ago I skipped a song for the xth time, I went out for an hour, came back, started spotify and that very same song played again, that was for me the moment I sayed enough is enough and I cancelled my subscription. The exact same day they anounced they will fire +1000 people
The reason I listen total these songs most is cause Spotify keeps playing them but hard to keep skipping songs while driving or in the shower
Y’all need to turn this sh*t off it’s the most annoying thing ever. Y’all are ruining the songs I like cuz I hear them every damn day. All my friends who use Spotify agree with me as well.
Well we dont like it! At least give us the option to reset or clear the queue.. THANK YOU!!
I can confirm this is a still issue, and I don’t think it’s Spotifys “priority” shuffle feature. My playlist will ALWAYS play the exact same 3 songs first, literally no difference on device or if im in my car.
Really annoying as I have to skip about 5-6 songs until I find one I haven’t listened to before. My playlist is 24 hours long so this really shouldn’t be happening.
Can anyone explain to me why if I have 800+ songs on my playlist, Spotify will keep playing the same handful over and over? It's so irritating!
More people need to cancel their subscription so they maybe will start to listen to their customers
Easy, I'm here to explain, said issue ([All Platforms] Option to have a true shuffle - Page 112 - The Spotify Community)
Has been here for 4 **bleep** years, nobody has done anything about it, so... Bite the bullet, leave for better service, do it now, make Spotify feel the loss. I will.
fix this
Ya this same thing is really starting to **bleep** me off after a few months. I have 1,500+ songs on my liked songs playlist, I hear the same 20 songs on repeat everyday. I’m about to just cancel Spotify at this point.
So... Spotify has been giving basically the same answer for years. When will you really take this seriously and give us a true shuffle option? It really sucks.
A "live idea" that's 4 years old and has well over 3200 votes?
It doesn't sound that live to me. It cannot be that difficult to grab a play list, shuffle it, play all songs on it until they are ALL played ONCE, and shuffle it again and do that again and again.
Personally I feel that Spotify is not listening to what customers want. When I create a long play list, I do not want to listen to the same songs over and over again. This issue is so frustrating to people that there are third party tools to fix it (like Spotify Playlist Randomizer | Steven Aleong) - Someone can fix this, but Spotify - who is taking my money every month - can't? Absurd. I'm very close to trying another music provider as I find this incredibly frustrating.
I'm positive this whole forum is just a way to placate paying customer's complaints without actually doing anything about it.
I believe that any company who offers a shuffle option should have figured out how it should work before they even offer the product to the public
They need to take out the "most played songs" command out of the shuffle. It isn't truly a shuffle if they keep pushing songs in my playlist to the top due to play count, which is magnified even more since the shuffle plays them since they were played from shuffle from last time 😕 and not shuffling them like they should. Fix this Spotify. SHUFFLE means SHUFFLE.
I do not like this I want to hear music similar not the same Playlist no matter what band I choose. . Thinking about switching to another music option. Really sucks
I don't like it how can we change it?

My Question or Issue
In the past, when I would play a playlist on shuffle it would go through the whole thing playing each song once until it reached the end, even if I paused listening and came back later. Now, though, if I start to listen to a shuffled playlist and pause before it's through, it seems like it is reshuffling. For example, if I paused while listening to a certain song, when I come back it will pick up in that song where I left off, but the songs that come after it are often songs that were played the last time I listened just before I paused. A shuffled playlist shouldn't replay songs before it reaches the end. Note that I am listening with regular shuffle, not smart shuffle, and I don't have this problem if I listen without shuffle on at all, it will play through the list from beginning to end even if I paused.
