My Question or Issue

I had a huge number of downloaded tracks on my only Spotify account, but the Spotify Backup playlist was cleared. Even after I downloaded new tracks and played them over WiFi, the playlist is still empty. Spotify is using 5,6 GB of my storage,so downloads are not removed,it just got hidden somehow from the backup playlist

 Pls help!!

Hey @ufneeq, welcome to the Spotify Community! 🎵

Could you share more details about the playlist?

  1. Was it an auto-generated playlist, shared/collaborative, or did you create it?
  2. Is it empty on a specific device or everywhere? You can check on the desktop app or the web player to confirm.

Keep me posted. 🙂

1. This playlist appears when I turn on "offline access" in settings,so its auto-generated and it can be only displayed in phone app

2. I can't check if its empty only on my device because the playlist can be displayed only in phone app and I do have only one phone

Hey @ufneeq,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Keep in mind that the Offline Backup playlist takes your queued and recently streamed tracks and creates one easy-to-access playlist that is unique to you, and it doesn't necessarily include downloaded music - hence why you can't see your downloaded songs there. This playlist is for the times when you forget to download your favorite music, so it gives you another way to access music without using any extra data or storage.

If it's currently empty for you, we'd suggest continuing to stream more music on your device so the playlist can populate correctly.

Hope this sheds some light on the matter. The Community will be here if anything else comes up.

Cheers!
