Accidentally deleted artist from Daily Mix

Solved!

Accidentally deleted artist from Daily Mix

I just accidentally deleted two of my favourite artists from my favourite Daily Mix and would love to be able to re-add them to that Mix. I spend most of my time listening to that Mix and would be super sad without those two being in it. Is there a way to reverse my fat finger attack?

Why does this show as a solution? The problem clearly remains particularly as the block button is still on the main screen and the user is not even prompted to confirm.

I'm going to repeat a post from earlier in this thread:

Very frustrating thought process: "New UI update. Cool! Daily Mix?! Sweet, I'll try it. But where's the shuffle button? Maybe it's hidden behind this circle with a slash for whatever reason. I don't know what this icon is, can't hurt to try it. SONG DELETED. WHAT?! Surely, the link that just appeared is an Undo link - I'll click it real quick without reading. ARTIST DELETED. Okay, calm down. I'll Google the issue. Cool - an official statement with a solution! Solution: No solution. Uhhhh." Maybe Daily Mix is not for me.

Fix this **bleep** guys. Seriously.

Agreed with everyone here. This need to be fixed.

Everyone whose Spotify has been infected by this monstrosity of a UI design, you might want to add your vote to https://community.spotify.com/t5/Live-Ideas/All-Platforms-Option-to-Undo-Dislikes-in-Daily-Mix/idi-p...

I have found one possible solution...
I also did this and erased a great song! and what I was while the daily mix was playing, I back out and went to the lookup/search icon when I backed out far enough and searched the song/artist I deleted and added the song to the queue by using the three dots located to the right of the deleted song. It was then the next song played on my daily mix. Hope that permanently fixed the deletion off the daily mix. (Yet to be determined) but at least that is a fix.

Inspired by Dilacy above I specifically added the same song I deleted about 2-3 times in a row and after forwarding them the same song appeared with the love button on the left and the circle sign on the right selected, but IT WON'T LET ME DESELECT THE darn CIRCLE **bleep**

Wth Spotify?

Ok, so I just tried fixing this going on my Desktop Spotify and learned that I couldn't reach Daily Mix through it lol

So I just started pressing back on the Android app (that had automatically asked to control my Desktop Spotify just before,  which I had accepted) until I reached my Daily Mix Playlist and, lo and behold, my previously deleted song was now back at the Playlist with the circle button not selected!!! (See attachment for wonderful proof) It was even at the same spot it occupied in the Playlist before I screwed up, like magic.

Pressed Heart on that mofo right away.

So guys, try that if possible and see if it works for you:

  1. While listening to the Daily Mix on your mobile, go back to the song that used to be just before the song you screwed up in and let it play
  2. Go in the Artist/Album page for the song you want back in the Daily Mix and  select the "Add to Next/Playing/Queue" (or whatever that specific option is called in your language) option on the same song a few times (I did it approx. 3 times)
  3. Forward those songs you added paying attention to see if possibly the last one or after the ones you added that same song appears as it did previously before you screwed up, as the next song of the original pre-screwup Playlist but with the circle button selected
  4. Try then to open a Desktop Spotify on your PC and connect your mobile Spotify to the Desktop - your mobile will then act as a remote control device for your Desktop Spotify
  5. When the connection is made, go on your mobile Spotify and either go to the Daily Mix Playlist or (presumably, as it was in my case) press Back until you return to the Daily Mix Playlist and see if your song is back in there in its former circle-free glory
  6. Play that mofo like crazy if it did return as showed like your own prodigal son is once more returned to you

If it didn't return, I'm truly sorry for your  loss. 😞

I will be truly hoping this fix works for everyone. I know I definitely have learned my lesson from this: I'm now repeatedly  listening to it pressing the backforward button since you don't have a Repeat button on Daily Mix (which is how I screwed up in the first place, trying to put the song on Repeat).

But it is really stupid to have the button after the circle be not an Undo but a Ban Artist from the Playlist. Wth, Spotify?

Hope it helps, everyone.

Thank you for this... Unfortunately it did not work for me.

I followed all of your insructions, found the deleted song, selected "Add to Up Next" while my Daily Mix was playing - but then when it went to the next song - it did indeed play the deleted song that I had put to play 'up next' but I could not click the heart icon... on the mobile app the heart and circle icons disappeared when the song started playing - on the desktop version the heart/circle icons were there but they were grayed out and would not allow me to select them. Bummer.

Really hoping that spotify will give us the ability to un-do blocking artists/songs from the Daily Mix!

When it reaches the point where I could see the song in the desktop with both heart and circle grayed out I went back to the Daily Mix Playlist and checked if the song was automatically put back in there, and it was. I'm a bit afraid of trying to purposefully ban an artist and see if I can make it work again to further test this fix, but I'll find an artist I don't want in my Daily Mix and test this out.

EDIT: I just tried this and yeah, I can't get it to work again. Once again, wth Spotify?

Just before I saw this post I tried adding new songs directly to the Daily Mix using the method detailed above my post from artists that weren't previously on the list (therefore not Banned from it) and after they had played the songs appeared as part of the Daily Mix - having the heart and circle buttons besides the control buttons, which doesn't happen when you simply add a song to the queue while listening to the Daily Mix. So I guess we can "manually" teach the Daily Mix so far with this, if we only press the circle but refrain from removing the artist from the playlist... That's still not enough though, since the button is specifically made to remove that song.

Maybe if they changed its functionality to instead of not seeing at all just lowering the frequency with which it appears again in the playlist, since with my tinkering so far I've seen that when you heart a song you don't really increase the frequency that it shows up in your playlist at all, you just add the thing to your library. At least in that way it wouldn't be a permanent problem.

I also have the same issue! Commenting just in case solution is uploaded so I am notified!!

Any updates since last year?  Super bummed that my artist was deleted by complete accident.  I would 'think' this could be something that Spotify could have fixed by now, given the feedback...?????

Looks like this worked for me!  Thanks heaps!

Wow. What sort of moron makes a nuke button that can't be undone?

Were there any updates on this issue recently? I did this the other day trying to replay the song and the solution posted did not work at all 😞

Also did this.... 😞

I also hope it's solved soon. We need an option to reset the banned artists or undo it.

Not solved yet.

Spotify has an "Live Idea" with this idea open for voting.

https://community.spotify.com/t5/Live-Ideas/All-Platforms-Option-to-Undo-Dislikes-in-Daily-Mix/idi-p...

Anyway, I think Spotify should do this without even asking us. This is an obvious issue.

Me too. Please fix 😞

This is ridiculous that this can't be fixed.. I'm becoming less and less satisfied with spotify 😞

This just happened to me. F*ck you Spotify for not implementing an easy fix sooner. Only an idiot would add a nuke button without a chance to undo..
