After clicking a song link from iMessage, the next time I open Spotify it navigates to that song aga

When someone sends me a link to a song over iMessage, I click the link and Spotify opens the song to play it (working as expected). Then if I close switch apps, the next time I go back to spotify it navigates to the same song the link was for again.

This happens pretty consistently for me every time I click a link, the next time I switch back to the spotify app it opens that song again. It's highly annoying because it switches out of whatever playlist/song I was listening to.

Hi there @Triebr,

Thanks for reaching out. Try performing a clean reinstall of the app, that should clear the issue. If it persists though, please send us the exact make, model, OS version and Spotify Version of your device as well as a video of the behaviour. With that info, we'd be happy to investigate for you.

Hope this was helpful.

This didn't work.  Come on guys.  Tons of users are identifying this glitch and have been for years.  It's beyond frustrating that Spotify is not offering more of a solution than "try a clean install of the app."  I'm running an iPhone 16 Pro with the latest version of the Spotify app (and premium no less).  I don't click Spotify song links in messages any more because of this glitch BUT IT STILL HAPPENS.  For example, just now someone sent me a Spotify song link.  I had a queue running so I didn't want to click the link.  Instead I went to the Spotify app, searched for the song, then added it to the queue.  Then I went back to the message and wrote a few responses.  The song I had added to the queue finished playing, and the queue resumed.  A few minutes later, I went back to Spotify to add a new song to the queue, and as soon as Spotify opened it switched to the song that was linked in the message, clearing the queue.  I never clicked on the song, but Spotify behaved as though I did the moment I switched from the messages app to Spotify.  The request to make a video is hilarious-- even if I could figure out how to record my iPhone screen I wouldn't sink more time into making an educational video about how your app is broken.  Hopefully with this detailed description you can fix it, although I have no confidence that you will.
