Album Shuffle on Iphone issue

Ok, I have been trying to get this shuffle play to work as advertised and it just won’t cooperate. In all the advertisements and from what I have read, I should be able to shuffle an album or playlist. When I go to shuffle a particular album, it starts pulling in songs from the artists whole collection and sometimes even different artists. I did some research on line and I read that the album or playlist must have at least 12 tracks to prevent this from happening. So I made sure the album or playlist I shuffled had enough tracks, but it still didn’t make a difference. I understand that I am not paying for this service, but to hear the advertisements over and over again regarding album and playlist shuffle mode seems messed up. If there is a chance I am doing something wrong please let me know.

I think there's also a (hidden) requirement to have 12 different artists too. They don't want you to have too many features or there would be no point in upgrading to Premium.
