"Your Music" Feature Offline

"Your Music" Feature Offline

Is there a way to make songs saved to "Your Music" available offline? Or do they have to be part of a playlist?

Everything but songs can be downloaded at the moment - artists, albums and playlists. I think they need to think up an easy way to find downloaded tracks in the "songs" tab before it becomes useful.

Right, of all the subsections of  "Your Music", it seems you can make "playlists", "artists", and "albums" available offline, but NOT "songs". If "songs" could be made available offline, the new design would be fantastic.

I completely see the merits to the new design. Having the ability to organize and sort your music library by albums and artists (like iTunes) is a great and much needed feature.

But as someone who relied heavily on the starred feature, the inability to make "songs" available offline is a major inconvenience. The old method of starring a song was easy, and users could (and technically still can) easily make a one time decision to set the starred playlist available offline. Very simple process to come across a new song by a new artist and make it available for offline consumption, as there is only 1 recurring step:

1) Designate starred playlist to be available offline (one time step)

2) Star new songs (recurring step)

Now, it's just 1 click to save a song to "Your Music". However, once this is done, it seems a further step needs to be taken for offline consumption if the song is by a new artist or part of a new album:

1) Save song to "Your Music" (recurring step)

then one of the following recurring steps:

2(a) Add song to an existing playlist that has been made available offline

2(b) Navigate to the artist and make the artist available offline

2(c) Navigate to the album and make the album available offline

Starred is treated like just another playlist now so you should still be able to add tracks to it from the context manu "add to playlist > starred."

Understood, but this is still step 2(a) from my previous post: 2(a) Add song to an existing playlist that has been made available offline.

My point is that it now requires 2 steps on a recurring basis in order to both add a song to "Your Music" and to have it available offline. I want songs to be added to the "Your Music" library so that I have the ability to filter by artist/album. I also want to be able to easily make my entire music library available offline.

I get that I can still add a song to the starred playlist (or any other playlist I've made available offline), but I would still need to save it to "Your Music" as well.

The simplest solution, in my opinion, is to have a toggle/setting under "Your Music"--->"Songs" to make available offline.

Ideas section, quick before someone beats you to it. Maybe a filter so we can see just downloaded tracks and shuffle those too?
