Songs keep repeating on my apple watch even if I have shuffle on or off. I have to manually tap next. I have tried multiple different playlists from my watch during my nightly runs. These are all offline downloaded playlists. This worked fine for years. I have uninstalled the app from my watch, reinstalled it, deleted the playlists and redownloaded them. Still the same
WatchOS 11.1 (22R585)
Solved! Go to Solution.
I just bought an apple watch SE2 on 29th of November 2024, only reason I did was so I could leave my iphone at home and use the watch as an "mp3 player" for my spotifyplaylist, while I am at the gym. And the playlist halts at the end of every song. Drives me nuts. Why the **bleep** is that an actual issue?
I just tested the update, and it’s working again.
I also updated to the new version and it look to be working. Check that it is the 8.9.96 version in setting.
Ditto, it seems fixed for me. I downloaded a playlist from the watch, not the app on the phone. Did a 30 minute run, played flawlessly.
Fixed! I just finished up a 2 hour run after applying the update and it’s working perfectly. Thank you!
It's working for me with the latest Spotify Apple Watch app - I also had to re-download my playlists. Thanks for listening to us, Spotify.
It is fixed for me as far as I can tell after I updated the iOS app last night.
It works again for me from today! Must have been the update on the IOS app yesterday!
Yes same here, really annoying
Hey folks,
As some of you already noticed, this should be fixed in version 8.9.96. It might take a while for the roll out to reach everyone, but you can manually update to get it sooner.
Cheers,
The new update has fixed the issue for me! Woohoo!
Updated app on Iphone. Deleted downloaded playlists on watch. Downloaded them again from the watch and it seems to be working.
SPOTIFY FIX THIS
Same here. I'm listening to downloaded songs from my watch. Bug startet a few weeks ago.
This is what the app looks like when the music stops. Need to tap "skip" to hear the next song.
Its absolutely not fixed. I am using 8.9.96 and just went for a jog. I am no longer having the issue where the last tracks repeats, but instead at the end of just about every second song the playlist stops showing 0:00 seconds of the song remaining. I need to press next track to continue. This is happening on my downloaded offline playlist.
it so frustrating, i am paying for a premium subscription and you guys cant fix the issue. Just roll the dam app back to the previous version (1month ago) before you broke it.
Still not working… it’s the same thing, but this is the first time I have experienced it after iOS 11
Started beginning of Nov. Pretty sure there was an IOS update sometime around there but it didn't seem to be an immediate issue. First it was the same song would play over and over, then Spotify wouldn’t autoplay downloaded or steaming from watch. Did all the suggested clearing and uninstalling, Spotify on watch will now autoplay only streaming songs. Still won’t autoplay downloaded songs which is kinda the point of downloading playlists to listen to while I train for a marathon. This really sucks that I pay a lot to listen and download music but downloads where I need it most isn’t working.
iPhone 13 pro max
Apple Ultra 2
Both fully up to date
Some reported having to re-download the previously downloaded playlist in order to resolve the issue. In my case, I just went on to play a previously downloaded playlist on my watch yesterday when I went for a jog and was able to play them continuously without the issue of playback stopping after 1 - 2 songs.
Upgrading Spotify app on my iPhone to version 8.9.96.547 resolved this problem for me. After updating app on iPhone, Spotify on Apple Watch was deleted and then reinstalled.
