Hi @stvnlng,

Welcome to the Community!

You mentioned that you've already reinstalled the Spotify app, but would you mind going through the steps of a clean reinstall, as it's more thorough than a normal one?

We also recommend reinstalling the Instagram app from the App Store.

If this doesn't do the trick, could you try again using a different internet connection? Also, does it happen with other Spotify links as well?

Cheers - Let us know how it goes!

If you hold down the Spotify button where it says delete, share and search maybe if you press search it could be used as a short term solution to open Spotify until you find a proper solution

I did all of your suggestions and the app does the same for me, even when I open it from the homepage. Help!

Hey there @LeatherSnake

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community.

Just to confirm, is this also happening when you open a link from Instagram?

Also, let us know your device's make, model, exact OS version and Spotify version so we can take a better look.

Keep us posted.

This bug happened because, I hit a link from Instagram to take me to a Spotify playlist. Now when I open my Spotify app on my iPhone XR ( OS 14.3) it goes directly to safari and opens the link. I cannot access my Spotify at all.
I did all clean re-installs with all apps, cleared caches...turned phone off, back on , re install. Still the same.
Thank you.

Hi @LeatherSnake

Thanks for getting back to us.

Would you mind sending over a screen recording where we can take a better look at this issue?

You can attach it using the Insert Video option in the post editor or you can include a link to it, just make sure to exclude any personal info from the video.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply!

Hi. I have been experiencing the same issue and have found no solution, even after trying all of the ones suggested. Attached is a link to a screenrecording that shows how I am unable to use the Spotify app without being constantly redirected to a playlist link on Safari. I hope there is a way to stop this frustrating problem. Thank you!

Hey @Trishafernando,

Thanks for the info 🙂

It's a good idea to try with another account to check if it's an account-related issue.

In case the issue persists, could you share with us the following? We'll investigate this further.

  • When did the issue occur?
  • The troubleshooting steps you've tried so far so we can avoid repeating  troubleshooting steps
  • Device + OS version
  • Exact Spotify version

Keep us in the loop! If you have questions, you know where to find us.

Hi! It seems the problem has fixed itself. All it took was a logout from my account, and once I logged back in, I was no longer redirected to a link in Safari.

Thank you for the help anyways! 🙂
