My Question or Issue

When sharing the song 80 Millionen by Max Giesinger to a whatsapp contact from the artists popular song list, the generated message is 'Here's a song for you... 80 Millionen by (null)', this happens with Ubermorgen by Mark Foster also, You're Beutiful by James Blunt and other artists, always if selecting the song from the popular list. 

There is no (null) if the song shared is selected from an album.

Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a clean reinstall of the app following these steps.

If you're still having trouble, let me know what device this happens on, as well as the current software version. Also, send me a screenshot of what you're seeing so I can take a closer look.

In the image attached you can see the “by null” that appears when the song
is selected in the artist’s popular list and under that the expected result
that works well when the song is selected to share from an album.
As previously mentioned my device is an iPhone Xs, running IOS 13.7

You can send a screenshot by going to the Attachments section of your reply and select the image you want to attach and then post the reply.

I think i didn't wait for it to upload, sry for that. The artist field name
in the auto generated String of the Whatsapp share message is returning
null probably. I did reinstall Spotify and reset my phone, and it's still
not working properly.

Does this happen on a different device if you have one possible? Also, have you tried a different network connection?

 

It also seems like your iOS isn't up to date. You can update your iPhone by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Once it's done updating, let me know if the issues persist.

Updating to IOS 14.0.1 did not solve the null artist.
Tested with an iPhone 6 and it worked fine.
Changing the network did nothing.
Tomorrow I could test it with another iPhone Xs, to see if its related to
this model.

So I tested it on another iPhone Xs with another premium account and same
thing happens. Artist is (null). Ive attached the flow to get the (null)
artist.

Thanks for trying this on a different device. 

Our last resort is to try this on a different account. Could you try creating a new account here, and see if the same issue happens in the app? If everything works there, I'll suggest steps on how to transfer your content from the old account to the new one.

Tested with a different account already and same thing. Its a bug in the
share to WhatsApp feature unrelated to IOS, that only happens with popular
lists, unrelated to accounts, unrelated to device, only seen in iPhone Xs
so far. I believe this narrowed it down a lot.
Its been fun doing QA, I can live with this being broken, hope the
information helps.
