Can't play downloaded songs/podcasts when offline

Solved!

Can't play downloaded songs/podcasts when offline

Recently, I have been consistently unable to playback downloaded podcasts/music. All of my podcasts play fine when I'm online. However, as soon as I'm outside of Wi-Fi range, nothing can be played back.

Additional context:
I download all of my music/podcasts in the morning before work. I visually confirm that all of my music/podcasts are downloaded before I leave.

As soon as I leave my house, the 'downloaded' icons for all of my podcasts (even the ones that were already downloaded will suddenly switch to the spinning loading wheel and nothing will play :(. I have already tried clearing my cache. I also have plenty of storage and my app is up to date.

Hey @17grondina,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

This type of issue is commonly related to some damaged cache stored on your device that may be affecting the proper behavior of the downloads. So in this case, since you've already cleared the app's cache, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article. This process will replace any damaged files remaining and ensure you're running the latest version of the app.

Note: you'll need to re-download all your content after the process to have it available for offline usage again.

If the issue persists, could you check if you have any SD card inserted on your device? If so, remove it and try again to see if it makes any difference.

Lastly, include in your next response the make, model, and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the app worked!

I was on an iPhone 13, IOS 17.5.1. Spotify version: 8.9.50.491.

On an unrelated note, downloaded podcasts are no longer removing themselves after Being played. (This was an issue before and after the reinstall) do you have any solutions for that?

Hey there @17grondina
