Cannot control Spotify on iPhone lock screen or control centre

Hello, I’m hoping someone can help me!

 I have recently downloaded the newest version of apple software 11.0.3, since then I am unable to control the Spotify app through the lock screen or the control centre. To change the song or volume of the music I have to open the app! It’s very irritating 😩 does anybody know why this has happened and how to fix it please?

Same problem but I can’t even press next on the app. I have to go down my playlist to choose a song or push shuffle play
