My Question or Issue
I submitted a new idea to bring back the ability to delete songs from playlists on the mobile app, but someone replied saying it’s still possible by opening the … menu and tapping Edit. However, I don’t see Edit, just the attached. There doesn’t seem to be any ability to delete songs after tapping Add songs. So…?

Hey @connorhawke,
Thanks for replying 🙂
Could you try entering edit mode in your playlist?
Tap the Rename option from the … of the Playlist. Also, are you able to un-heart those songs from Liked Songs?
If possible, could you try that from the desktop version of Spotify?
Keep me psoted 🙂
Hey @connorhawke, welcome to the Community.
Hope you're doing great!
Please make sure that the playlist is created by you and it's not one you're just following.
To simply remove a single song just tap the … on the right side of the title then tap on 'Remove from this playlist' as shown below:
To Edit a playlist you need to tap the Rename option on the screenshot you have attached. For me it's still Edit but please note that at Spotify, possible improvements and new features are often being tested. This means you might see something on the app your friend doesn't, or get a brand new feature for only a temporary period. Check here for more.
Hope it helps 🙂
“Remove from this playlist” now appears after yesterday’s app update so I guess it was just added recently for me (doesn’t help Spotify users if everyone sees different options at different times btw). However, I can’t seem to remove Unplayable Songs - tapping the … (or heart, if they are faved) doesn’t do anything. It should be possible to access the same menu to easily remove, change the fave status, etc of Unplayabale Songs too. In the meantime if anyone knows a workaround to do this for Unplayable Songs please let me know.
Hey @connorhawke,
Could you share a screenshot of what you're looking?
Also, if you want to disable those unplayable tracks just head to Settings in Home and inside Playback section make sure that Hide Unplayable Songs is enabled.
Hope it helps 🙂
Screenshot attached: tapping the right-side of unplayable tracks doesn’t bring up a menu like it does with playable tracks. I don’t want to hide them at this time. However I should be able to remove them from a playlist, change my fav status on them, etc.

The rename trick doesn’t work. It just shows a prompt with options Cancel and Rename; doesn’t seem to enter an edit mode. The unplayable songs cannot be favd or unfavd. Ultimately however I was able to remove the songs and edit fav status using the Desktop app so I’ll mark this as completed although obviously the mobile app needs a lot of work to catch up in functionality.
I'm happy that you were able to fix this!
In the meantime I made sure to pass your feedback about the mobile app to the right folks 🙂
Have a great week ahead.
