Please please please fix the smart shuffle feature. I’m tired of using it. I have my Playlist the way I like it. Not how an algorithm thinks I will. In the likes Playlist, the smart shuffle turns back on the second I minimize the app.
please just let us disable it across our account. Maybe turning on smart shuffle in playlists would connect to the global account setting?

Hey @danbamcamsam @MarimoTM @PayingListener
Good news! Spotify has listened to user feedback and you can now disable Smart Shuffle from the mobile app settings, as mentioned in this now implemented idea. This setting will also be added to the desktop app in a future update.
Steps to disable Smart Shuffle in the mobile app:
1: Tap on your profile picture at the top left corner
2: Tap on Settings and privacy
3: Tap on Playback
4: Switch Include Smart Shuffle in play modes off
Note: This is for Premium users only and right now it's only available in the mobile app, but in a future update, there will be a setting to disable Smart Shuffle in the desktop app as well.
More info can be found in the Shuffle help article here:

update: I meant that if I turned off smart shuffle (in liked playlist), then go back into the home page, then back to liked playlist, THEN it’s reset. Minimizing the app doesn’t produce this error
Hey @danbamcamsam,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.
If you turn off the Smart Shuffle button, it should remain off even if you close the app. This type of issue is commonly related to damaged cache stored on your device from previous versions. In this case, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article as it can be helpful in getting rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.
On another note, a similar idea about the Smart Shuffle has already been suggested here, and it's currently set as "Good Suggestion"; feel free to show your support for it by adding your vote with the "Thumbs Up" button and subscribing to it! Any changes or updates will be posted in that thread.
Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.
SMART SHUFFLE IS A COMMERCIAL! Smart shuffle is a cheap trick to force you to listen garbage music because SPOTIFY GETS PAID EXTRA MONEY BY ARTISTS TO EXPOSE YOU TO THEM. That’s why they force you to see “Music You’ll Like” notifications even when it’s disabled in settings. Spotify once was had a GREAT UI, and they could do it again if they weren’t so busy tripping over themselves to squeeze three cents out if it’s paying customers by forcing commercials into their faces. SMART SHUFFLE IS A COMMERCIAL!
same dude. i been using spotify ffree and i cant turn off the smart shuffle and now i cant use my playlist anymore with the smart shuffle
