Disliking a song doesn't keep it from playing again

I have a playlist that I use as seeds to listen to as radio. I dislike songs when I'm listening to the radio but the next time I listen to radio for that playlist, it plays those disliked songs again. Maybe I'm not clear on how Spotify tracks dislikes. Is it per session? Per radio? Is it because I wore blue socks on Thursday?

I have used Spotify heavily for 4 months now and it still doesn't seem to know what I like. I have one playlist that I ONLY want to hear instrumentals and I ALWAYS thumb down vocal songs but I still get vocal suggestions on that playlist radio. Pandora learned that within 2 weeks of listening... Come on, folks. "Oh, he keeps hitting dislike on vocal songs, maybe we shouldn't play vocal songs anymore."

Someone help me understand.
