Does dislike ads do anything?

I’ve dislikes the ad in good faith by byu radio 8 times in the past three days. I’ve gotten the ad 15 times in the past three days. So does disliking ads not actually do anything or is this a bug?

I’ve had the same experience for a long time now since using Spotify. I have a theory that they’re just trying to be make you pay for premium by giving you the same ad they know you don’t like.
