Downloads music when none is selected to

I have an iPhone 4s running iOS 9.2.1 (latest) and Spotify 4.7.0.985 (also latest).

I don't have any music picked to download for offline play, but yet it still downloads it. Logging in and out don't help, removing the app doesn't help, restarting doesn't help, and nothing shows up in the Offline Devices section of my Account page on the Spotify website.

What's going on, and how can I fix it?

This may be related to a commonly experienced caching issue iPhone users have experienced.  Check out this thread and see if it sounds like a similar problem.
