Family can play certain tracks but I can’t!

Family can play certain tracks but I can’t!

hoping someone can shed some light on this for me - it’s very weird.

I have a family premium account, shared with 2 kids and wife. All 3 of them can play all Radiohead tracks and albums on their iPhones, but when I try to play the same track on my iPhone, it plays a totally different and totally random non Radiohead song. It’s absolutely bizarre.

Hi @exectraveller, thanks for reaching out!

That’s really weird. My first suggestion is that you try playing from different sources - search for that song manually and play it instead of using a playlist or liked songs.

You can also log out and log back into your Spotify account. Ensure you're not connected to any external devices like a smart speaker or car Bluetooth.

Finally, double check your queue, as well as Shuffle mode (it should be disabled).

Let me know if any of these work or if it still acts weird!

Thank you so much for your reply. I tried each of those, which sadly didn’t work. I then went back to the Radiohead search results….which were all

listed but greyed out. I then looked at every option I could on that results page - one of which was the ‘follow’ button. By following them, the tracks ungreyed and were finally playable. Really odd and doesn’t feel like it’s an intentional solution. I never would have thought that I needed to actually follow the artist to be able to play their tracks (much as I love them) Big thanks for leaning in to help me.

Hey @exectraveller, I'm glad the issue is now solved 🙌

You might have unintentionally blocked Radiohead some time ago and that caused the issue.

Anyway, enjoy!
