Feature Suggestion – "Previous Song" Button

Feature Suggestion – "Previous Song" Button

Please consider adding a “Previous Song” button back to the iPhone app! 🙏

Sometimes when I’m listening to music while driving, exercising, or doing chores, I miss the name of a great song. Without a "go back to the last track" option, it's hard to findwhat just played — especially if it wasn’t saved or liked.

This would really improve the experience for mobile users who can’t always check their screen in time. Hope you’ll consider this!

Thanks for your awesome work

Hey @ivyliu0313,

Thanks for reaching out on the Community! Hope you don't mind us moving your post as it fits better here.

You should be able to jump back to the previous song by pressing the rewind/backwards arrows twice. Tapping it once will take you back to the beginning of the current song, and pressing it twice will restart the previously played one 🙂

If the arrows don't appear for you, it's worth checking so that your device's OS is up-to-date, as well as the Spotify app version. The app can be updated by following the steps listed on this page.

Just keep in mind that clicking the backwards arrow twice doesn't apply to the songs that you've queued manually. Jumping back in to the latest queued song has been suggested by other users in this thread - feel free to have a look there! You can also add a Vote, should it sound interesting to you as well.

Another option, if you're unable to go back to the latest song right away, is to check which tracks you've recently listened to (and added to playlists) in Recents. On the mobile app, just head over to Home > click your avatar at the top > Recents.

Hope this helps! We're just a post away if you need anything else.
