Force re-connect to a foreign device

I'm on an iPhone 6 and pay for Premium service. When streaming music I typically can listen for 30 -45 mins and then my music turns off while the app stays open. When I try to play my music again by hitting the play button, the app will mysteriously change me to a device I've never heard of play music that I haven't selected (typically something I have no interest in). I try to switch back to 'This iPhone' and get a few seconds back into what I wanted to listen to before the app forces me back to another foreign device playing something I don't want to hear. I've tried going through the app store on my phone to download the latest enhancements but the problem persists. What can I do to listen to the music I want to listen to without being forced to listen to something else? Can I be credited for the last month of service as I've gotten no value out of membership? Thanks.
