How to sync local files to iPhone if not connected to same WiFi as laptop?

At my university, there is a separate WiFi network for the computers and for mobile devices.

I have some local files I want to sync to my iPhone, but I can't connect to the same network to do so.

Is there any other way to sync local files from my desktop to my iPhone if I'm not connected to the same network?

You can try connecting your computer to your phone's Personal Hotspot.

I've never tried this before, but I saw somewhere you could do this if you couldn't connect to the same network.

This is a great idea, and it sounds like it would work, but unfortunately, I don't have a phone plan that includes data from using personal hotspot! If anyone else would like to try this, this sounds like a great solution!
