I am a confirmed premium user but I'm still getting ads.

Hey there!

While Spotify doesn’t play ads that interrupt the music listening experience of Premium subscribers, some podcasts may include advertising, host-read endorsements, or sponsorship messages.

Can you confirm for us if you're getting ads in podcasts or in music?

If you hear ad breaks in your playlists, this would not be expected and we'll try our best to solve it. We'd recommend starting by  logging out > restarting your device > logging back in to sync up your subscription status with your device.

You might also be logging in to a free account instead. This article will help you locate your Premium account.

I am getting this too, and very annoyed.  I’ve been paying for family for several years, and premium for about 15 years. I just did a Google search h on it and found your post here.  I hope we get an answer.

Tagging a screen shot. I have a screen recording of getting 3-4 of these types of ads. Since making my initial post I’ve had the number of ads increase especially during the actual podcast. I’ve noticed that Spotify ads seem to arrive right before the podcast does their own plug (I’m fine with the hosts doing their own plug) I suspect the AI of Spotify knows that most people skip through the host’s plugs so if they inject their own Spotify ads right before I start skipping then Spotify get to make a little extra cash. Just reiterating that we PAY FOR THE PREMIUM SERVICE and are still getting ads before, during & after podcasts

The ONLY reason I pay Spotify, is to not get ads. As of January 2025, now there are ads in the podcast. What is the point then of paying them money, if they do not skip the ads we pay them for? I talked in the Chat function and got the bs response. Something has to be done?

I have a premium subsciption and I'm also suddenly getting this too.

This is NOT podcast ads, this is between songs on a playlist.  Why? I should be getting a refund if you're in breach of the user agreement.

I have premium plan but get Spotify ads when listening to my podcast. Not from the podcast host. I mean Spotify stops my podcast to do Spotify ads. Why am i paying for no ads and still getting ads from Spotify. To specify i get ads from Spotify it will say Spotify advertisement when the ad plays, im not talking about ad reads from the podcast host.

Likewise, premium user getting ads. These have just started this year - f'ing annoying video ads between podcast episodes. I'm ok with the host-read ads, but these other ones are taking the **bleep**.

I actually have been paying for the family premium for years and I was the only one that had ads.
I was late with payment. When I paid everyone has to re join and we have ads

Every night I listen to a 10 hour box fan white noise on Spotify and recently I started getting ads (most recent one was for bobs furniture?) It is horrible. I have already logged out and logged back in. I have a premium account. I am disgusted that they are doing this. Looking for alternatives so I don’t have ads blasting in my ear while I’m sleeping in the middle of the night.

I have Spotify premium since a few years but recently whenever I'm listening to podcasts, specifically the "My First Million" podcast from Shaan Puri and Sam Parr, I receive separate ads from Spotify (not the sponsored ads but some unskippable, even if I press the 15 second skip button) and yes I have paid the bill...

Yes but thers's clearly still a problem, what's the answer. I understanding podcasts may host ads, and am familiar with the format. But after months Spotify ads bookend my listening: at the beginning I have to wait for a parade of 'outide' ads to finish before the podcast shows as beginning. I am signed in as a premium user.

I know ads happen when listening to podcasts, but today was the first time I had adverts multiple times while listening to a playlist as a premium family subscriber. I see there was a similar thread a few weeks ago that was supposedly fixed too.

I am also getting ads while listening on one of my Family plan profiles. Confirmed the account is still active, logged in to the Premium account, tried restarting, tried logging in and out. But still getting ads.
