My Question or Issue
After update my phone to ios 15 my spotify auto connect to other device volume setting for example my desktop.
I've try to force close the spotify app but however after some time its still auto connect back the volume ( I've check my background app spotify was not running )
I also had this issue since iOS 14. Spotify suddenly max out the volume on my iPhone when I'm playing music on my Mac, even when the music is paused. It's horrifying scary.
Hi folks,
Thank you for posting on the Community!
In order to assist you better, we'd like to have more insights about how this is happening.
Keep us posted. We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Hi,
This issue happen when the app is closed background also.
The app also connect automatically to other devices through the Connect feature
Why are you saying it’s “not normal” to cause this bug? I had already reinstalled the app so much time and it just happens to me all the time. When I connect headphones to my iPhone, the Apple Watch volume just suddenly jumps out. You shouldn’t say that if you have not experienced this problem.
Hi @TronixKwak,
Thanks for the reply.
What we're saying is that we're acknowledging that this is not expected behavior. We'll do our best to help.
Can you clarify if the volume jump happens, when your are listening to music straight from the watch as well? Or is it only happening once you connect your headphones to the phone itself and the watch is active?
Cheers.
Hey @AyaneXuan,
Thanks for keeping us in the loop here.
Could we ask any of you folks here, for a screen recording of the situation, it would be very helpful if this could be possible for you to replicate.
We'll be keeping an eye out for your replies, thanks!
Hi,
Screen recording is not possible. due the the issue is happen all the sudden without any notice just suddenly my volume goes loud and connected to my spotify device volume.
Hi again @AyaneXuan,
Thanks for keeping us in the loop here.
We tried to reproduce this both on Android and on iOS in combination with different other devices and weren't able to do so. But we'll be on the lookout for more reports, as that might help us gather more data to look into it.
If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.
Hello!
Hazardous volume jump happens at any random moment for me, while airpods connected to iPhone. Reinstalling app didn't solved the problem at all.
This has been happening to me as well since updating my iPhone 11 to iOS 15. Despite being completely closed out of the Spotify app on my iPhone 11, my phone still responds to the volume levels of the Spotify desktop app on my MacBook. Unfortunately, it is frantic and random, so getting a video or screen recording is extremely difficult. I tried turning my phone on and off to see if that made any difference. I turned the phone volume all the way down before shutting it down, and before turning the phone back on, I made sure the desktop app was at full volume. Sure enough, a few seconds after I turned on my phone, the volume bar went from muted to full , even though I had just turned on my phone and hadn't opened the Spotify iPhone app. In short, the apps are somehow linking despite my iPhone app being completely closed out.
Hello everyone!
Thanks for reaching out here and taking the time to report this to us.
We're having trouble reproducing this on our end, which makes it difficult to pinpoint and resolve the underlying issue.
If you haven't done so already, we recommend performing a clean reinstall on the devices you use Spotify on. There could well be a caching issue on one of them, so we just want to eliminate that before we try anything else.
In case that doesn't do the trick, could you provide us with the following info:
Once we have that, we'll hopefully be able to narrow down the issue.
Thanks - keep us posted!
Hello, I'm also encountering this issue. I'm using Spotify on my Windows laptop while the app on my iPhone is closed. After a while I noticed that the app is connected to my iPhone and the volume can be controlled as well (like what happens when Spotify Connect is actually on). Also currently running on iOS 15.
Hey @OMFGrant,
Thanks for posting here 🙂
Folks, could you check if the background app refresh is on for Spotify? In case it is, we'd suggest you deactivate it. Are there any changes?
Keep us in the loop.
Hello there! I've switched off background refresh already but Spotify desktop still connected to my iPhone. This happened about 10-15 minutes after I started playing on my desktop. 😞 I've just updated to iOS 15.0.1.
Hello! Same trouble here and it sucks!!
Hey folks,
Thanks for your posts.
Could you try running a clean reinstall of the app on your phones? This is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.
Additionally, try restarting the app twice in a row to force a resync of the app.
Keep us posted on how it goes.
That seemed to do the trick for me. I’ll let you know if it occurs again and I’ll screen record it if it does.
No help for me.
