Not a mistake. We just didn't have time to add the context menu to tracks in the search view in this first release. It's on the to-do list.
I hope it's a mistake or bug or something, because it's absolutely ridiculous that you have to play a song in order to add it to a playlist. Not to mention all the other issues I have with trying to manage the now playing queue, which as I see it is non-existent.

On my computer, my work around to the playlist part has been to add in two steps. I found that I can add the tracks to a new playlist. So, I'll do that, then go to that new playlist, select all and add those to the playlist I wanted to add it to originally then delete the "new playlist".
Not sure if it'll work on the IPAD as I don't have one.
