Incorrect song currently playing

Incorrect song currently playing

I use Spotify Connect to play tracks on my Onkyo receiver. What my iPhone 12 Pro says is currently playing often isn’t what is actually playing even though I am using the iOS app to control the music and haven’t even minimized it. See attached screenshot that is obviously wrong just from looking at it. Reason being, the green highlighted track that is supposedly playing isn’t the one showing as playing in the banner below.

Hey @csoracco,

Thank you for posting in the Community!

Can we ask you, if this only occurs only while using the Connect feature to stream over from your receiver? It's also worthwhile restarting the app on your mobile device twice in a row. This may sound odd but it's how the app does a refresh and resolves possible cache-related issues. Let us know if this makes any difference for you?

If the above doesn't help you, please let us know what is your current app version, as well as the iOS version of your iPhone, so we can advise you better.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.

I pretty much only use the iOS app to control my Onkyo receiver using
Connect, so it's hard for me to say that it only occurs when using
Connect. Restarting the mobile app twice may or may not resolve the issue,
but either way what is occurring is a bug to be fixed, no? I mean it can't
possibly be a reasonable workaround to have to restart an app twice just to
make it work properly 🙂

Hey @csoracco,

Thanks for your reply.

Issues with Connect can depend on many different factors, such as the Internet connection, particular setups, issues with the app, issues with the devices, etc., that's why we asked you those questions and those suggestions so we can start trying to pinpoint what the root cause of this behavior might be.

No worries, restarting the app twice shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes. You can also try using the app on your phone for a few minutes to see if this behavior persists without Connect.

Keep us posted.
