Issue with fast forwarding on Carplay after app update

My Question or Issue

After updating my Spotify app yesterday to version 8.5.49 I started having issues with the fast forward functionality while using CarPlay. If a song or podcast is anywhere past the minute and a half mark and I fast forward it, it’ll bring the song/podcast right back to 40 seconds and start playing from there. Sometimes it will continue to fast forward but most of the time it’ll just start playing from the 40 second mark. My OS is up to date on my phone and the only change I’ve made it updating Spotify. I would appreciate any help getting around this issue. Thanks
