Local Files won't sync to my iphone.

My Question or Issue

My PC only has a wired connection through a LAN cable and I couldn't sync my local files on my desktop to the phone. I've heard that wired connections can be used but it has to be able to broadcast packets, how do I check if it could? I'm really in the dark here.

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community! Apologies for the delayed response, we just came across this thread.

Unfortunately, you can't sync local files unless you're in the same WiFi. If your computer is connected via an ethernet cable, it's not connected to the WiFi and thus can't communicate to other devices even if those devices are connected to the same internet through WiFi.
