My Question or Issue

Hi guys,

I’m having an issue with downloaded content becoming unplayable in offline mode, and was hoping somebody here might have some suggestions as to how I might go about resolving the problem.

The problem occurs a few days after going offline, and while I’m still in offline mode. Albums and Playlists will show as downloaded in my

library, with the tick in a green circle present, but when I open them, the songs are greyed out and unplayable. This seems to happen bit by bit, with big chunks of my 30GB library becoming unplayable every time I open the app, until I’m left with nothing.

I’ve tried updating to the latest version of Spotify through the App Store, and I’ve also tried offloading the app and re-download it, but this doesn’t seem to help. The only thing that seems to work is going back online, and allowing Spotify to re-download or re-authorise the songs to allow me to play them. The one solution I haven’t tried is deleting everything and doing a complete fresh install, as I just don’t have the internet connection to allow me to do that, as I work on ships, at sea with a wifi connection that can’t support downloading or streaming ,as it just doesn’t have the bandwidth to do it.

I’m fortunate where I am right now, as we’re anchored close to shore for the time being, so I can get onto the internet through roaming, but this could change at any time, and if we go deep sea with this issue still unresolved, then I don’t have music.

I’ve been a Spotify subscriber since 2014, and haven’t had an issue in all these years, so I can’t really understand why this is happening all of a sudden, but this could be a real deal breaker for me, therefore I’d appreciate any and all suggestions as to how I might get around this.

Thanks, Mike
