Music not playing out of airpods

Premium plan // Airpods // Iphone 14 pro // ios 18.4.1

I have an issue where spotify randomly stopped playing music out of my airpods. They work perfectly fine, as i can listen to youtube, have calls, and the like, so i know it is not an airpod or phone issue. However, when i open spotify and play a song, the song will play for a few seconds before it starts glitching and then cuts out. The song will continue to “play” as the progress bar continues, but no sound plays. 

If i restart the app and try again, it does the same thing, where it plays for a few seconds, glitches, then stops completely. No matter how many times i restart, it doesn’t fix the problem. I have restarted my phone, disconnected and reconnected the airpods, restarted the app, and none of these fixes work. 

How can i fix this or report it as a bug?

Can you try having a clean reinstall of the app? This is more in depth than a regular reinstall and can help solve most common issues. If that doesn't do the trick, in the settings of your device with the Spotify app, check Bluetooth allows media sharing.

If it’s still not working, try re-pairing your devices:

1. In your devices’ Bluetooth settings, delete the information of the other device.
   Tip: This setting can be called Forget or Unpair.
2. On both devices, switch Bluetooth off, then back on.
3. Re-establish the connection. Check your device’s user guide for specific steps.
