My local files are not working and appear gray on iphone

My Question or Issue

I just got a new phone and my local files do not work on it. I have tried everything, and nothing works. My laptop works completely fine with local files and has cover art on it. When it was working on my old phone (iOS) there was no cover art. It still has no cover art. I have asked people to help, and they had me try everything and they even gave up. I have tried closing it and re-opening it on both devices, re-adding it, re-downloading it, etc.

why would you remove the feature to sync from pc to iphone

Local songs that worked perfectly stopped being playable. They are now grayed out.
I confirmed the files are in the iPhone "my files / spotify" folder and are playable using the iPhone media app but not thru Spotify.
The song work on my computer but remain grayed out on the iPhone.
Again: this was working fine and without warning or changes, it stopped working.
Need your help to understand why the iOS Spotify app is no longer allowing me to play my local songs which did before with no issue.
