Hi
I noticed a bug directly after the iOS update. When you're in offline mode, no album covers are visible in the app. However, they are visible in the "locked screen"-view. Please fix this...
Solved! Go to Solution.
This will be fixed soon. Hang in there 😉
If this is an ongoing issue and this thread has been up since April, how are we to know that it will be fixed soon? I'm having the same issue with offline album cover art not showing.
Trust my word that this will be fixed soon. I have been complaining and telling them about these posts that you guys make here for the past few months.
I'm also encountering the same problem in my ipad, and is quite annoying. Is there anything we can do aprt from waiting for the next update?
This is ridiculous!
I've been having this problem for a long time.
For all those who have this super annoying problem, consider changing to Deezer. They have a bigger music library (30 million) than Spotify (20 million), they have a better music discovery feature (Personalized Recommendation), great mobile phone app which obviously shows all the cover arts with no problem. All of those for the same price as Spotify (£9.99/month).
Same problem! Please fix this.
I don't pay 15€/month (family-subscription) for a buggy app!
Obviously, you do. I'm sure, the only way fix this is to change to a competitor.
@Emabreu28: there's only so much you can do as reporting this bug to the responsible party. If they don't react to your complaint, you cannot force them. Therefore, the successful reporting to Matt is the only solution for the customer's answer what he or she could do.
No need for apologies, at least from you. And I think I know exactly what you mean. My first complaint about missing album art in offline mode dates back to 03-04-2014. At the same date, Matt did what he obviously could do. Stating that it's a known bug, that it has been reported and that there's currently no ETA when it will be fixed. And now it's 30-11.2014 and still there's no ETA for anything. Regarding this and your question, the only possible answer is: yes, it's a situation we have to live with if we want to use this service.
As for me, I've cancelled my premium subscription and asked support to delete my account. Let's see if they can do at least that. 😉
I work for a software company. If we released a software update with a major bug like this, the SQA team who signed off on the release would be looking for new jobs. Spotify has a serious quality assurance and testing problem. This is a major bug which looks really bad on Spotify's part. We have been told they are aware of this bug, but more pressure needs to be applied on them to fix this bug or at least address the issue. The fact that it's gone almost 6 months means either this is not a priority for them or the fix requires a lot of work. If it requires a lot of work, that means other things are broken too which needs to be fixed before this can be fixed. I suggest contacting Spotify support by email and asking them when the bug will be fixed.
A quick update everyone... I contacted Spotify support about this bug, and was told it will be fixed in the next update (for iOS anyway). We will wait and see if this is true.
Yes, this will be fixed in the next update. I can't give an exact time frame because development sometimes changes, but it should be soon.
same issue here, I recognised that this Topic was 7 Months ago and this bug is still not fixt... I did not know that I just bought a service that I must wait for the solution for 7 Months or forever....will cancel it next month. peace out~
Actually I opened an test account with Deezer. If spotify hasn't fixed this within 12 days (when the test period of deezer ends which is also around the time when my subscription payment with spotify is due) I'll cancel my spotify subscription and switch over. At the moment, I stopped using spotify but througoughly test Deezer.
I actually like the Deezer iOS app, offline content is presented in an own category so it's fast and easy to access. And the app simply seems to work. From the music library, I found several albums on deezer which are missing on spotify, and also two albums where some tracks on spotify are broken (clicking and in one case half the track missing, which I reported to spotify, but never was fixed) are playing fine on Deezer. I found only one of "my" albums missing on Deezer which is present on Spotify. Curated content and music discovery like playlists is probably better on spotify, but I don't use it anyways. Where deezer shines is the search function which is - much - more tolerant to typos than the one from Spotify. I figured out its far easier to find an artist / album on deezer than on spotify because of this. Only thing Deezer is missing is real gapless playback.
So spotify, hurry up. I'll be gone soon. Especially because this is not one bug, the iOS App is plagued with Bugs the whole year of 2014, and it's not the first time the spotify App had a cover art in offline mode bug. This bug was present for a long time, then fixed, than reappeared with the new spotify app with the new UI, and now its there since almost a year. So basicly I lost trust in spotify s software development - if they finally fix this bugs after a year or so I just wonder which anoying bug will pop up next...
