Not able to listen to downloaded podasts in airplane mode - free version

Hi, I am experimenting with using Spotify for the first time. I have the free version. I was hoping to be able to use it to listen to already downloaded podcasts during a long flight. Various folk in searches in the internet say this is possible but when I try it out, putting my iphone 16 in airplane mode, I am not able to select or play the podcasts I've downloaded.

Is there some setting I need to use?
Or are the people on the internet who say that with the free version of Spotify you can play podcasts offline while in airplane mode all mistaken and I have to buy the paid version????

I managed to locate this article and it confirms that you should be able to download podcasts even on the free tier of the app 🙂
Make sure to follow the steps from the page and try downloading any episode one more time. In case the issue remains, we can do some troubleshooting in order to resolve it:

Start by clearing your app's cached data. If this doesn't help out, see if going for a complete clean reinstall of the app would make a difference.

Absolutely! With the free Spotify, you can download and listen to podcasts offline on your iPhone 16, which is different from downloading music (a Premium feature). To make it work in airplane mode, ensure you've downloaded the podcasts before your flight. Once in airplane mode, open Spotify and go into your settings to enable Offline Mode.
