This thread originates from , which is a different problem.
As cgrex described it perfectly, the problem is still present, even with all components updated to newest versions.
"When playing via Bluetooth to car, only the first track artwork and track details are displayed. These remain on screen even when skipping tracks."
I testet this in my car, a BMW 520d (F11) with software version 2.39 (UPD05062). My iPhone 6 (iOS 8.1.2) has the latest Spotify app (2.2.0.2464).
Solved! Go to Solution.
iPhone 6+ here, and a 4-series production end of 2013. I updated to UPD05021 last year but that didn't fix the problem. Still no cover/title change after the 1st track.
Google music and the iOS music player work with no issue. It's definitely linked to BMW + Spotify.
It worked in my BMW. Now metadata is always updated song after song.
I have Iphone 6 latest iOS (9) and updated to the file from the BMW website.
What bmw and year model is it ?
Still unresolved for me with a 2012 5 series. Likewise Apple Music works perfectly 😡
it seems like vehicules after March 2014 that could get the latest update = UPD05062 are Ok.
Other year models 2012 to 2014 can only get UPD05021, issue is not fixed with this version.
Google and Apple music apps are working fine on all cars, don't know why only Spotify is affected.
Ridiculous that older models can get an upgrade that fixes this and yet newer cars can't. Am not convinced that's a BMW problem. Still really spoiling Spotify for me......well that and the abysmal "shuffle" feature.
seriously thinking Apple is a better option.
I've edited my post and corrected a typo. From March 2014 -> Ok . Older models don't work.
But I agree, it doesn't mean it's a BMW problem. Other music streaming apps work well. I'll probably switch to the Apple music app. soon because of that .
F30 330xda, I have escalated the case to BMW France, they called me back. And they explained me that they know it does not work, and also explained that in future BMWs it will be fixed! But unfortunately it will probably never work in my F30 from Nov 2013! Understand they do not want to fix it!
I am am really impressed how much they do not care about their customers! This car was sold 67000€ in 2013! And not even 2 years after it is outdated!
My my next car may not be a BMW?
This isn't BMWs problem, it's SPOTIFY's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if Apple Music works how the ******* hell cant Spotify sort out their software as well..........very poor service.
I have to say that BMW finally fixed it on my car 😉 They got a newer upgrade of the bluetooth soft and now it works!! Thanks!
Was excited this morning when I saw this post and an update on http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/connected_drive_services/mobile_devices/bluetooth_software_update.h...
New UPD05073. But that doesn't fix the Spotify issue on my car (2014 4-series). New Media version is MN-002.018.070
As stated before, in my case it is now fixed on my F30 2013 with:
IOS 9.02 iphone 6
MN 002.255.071
TN 002.255.070
Hey there, I'm having this problem where only seeing first track meta-data when streaming via bluetooth to my 2015 x3. I've updated the software myself, but to no avail. Did your dealer do this upgrade? Was there anything specifically I shoudl tell them? Was it covered under the new car warranty? Thanks!!
