As cgrex described it perfectly, the problem is still present, even with all components updated to newest versions.
"When playing via Bluetooth to car, only the first track artwork and track details are displayed. These remain on screen even when skipping tracks."
I testet this in my car, a BMW 520d (F11) with software version 2.39 (UPD05062). My iPhone 6 (iOS 8.1.2) has the latest Spotify app (2.2.0.2464).

My car has been updated to integration L (NBT_L ), and both the phone and multimedia versions start with MN.003.xxxx . Spotify now works perfectly with the song information/metadata.

Tiguanito- Excellent, thanks for the info. Just checked and I am on (NBT_G), and you are saying needs to be (NBT_L). Made an appt for 12/18/15 for something else and had KISU updated added to the list. When I made the appt, I asked the service advisor if he knew what i was talking about and he said he had no idea.. gulp. Hopefully the ppl in the back understand! (Peabody MA). Fingers crossed!!
I wanted to thank the forum and members who contributed to this thread. I convinced my dealer to upgrade the iDrive and my problems are now totally resolved!

I couldn't update my iDrive because my car F30 328i is from Early 2014 and the newest software didn't fix this Bluetooth Spotify issue. But recently, Spotify released a new version for IOS for my Iphone 6s Plus Spotify and the problem is now fixed with this version 8.0.0.529.
I have the same problem. How did you guys manage to update the car's software? My 2010 520d doesn't have a USB port. Is there another way to do it?
