My Question or Issue

On the mobile app I am unable to view the full description of a playlist. I can see the first two lines and then it cuts off. I have tried clicking it to see if it would open but it just highlights the text. I was just wondering if anyone else was having this issue or a way to fix it

how is this problem still not fixed😐

It has literally been almost two years and the issue is still not fixed

Fix it for sake !!!

I’m on bored with an expansion button for descriptions! My computer also doesn’t show playlist descriptions when they’re long ://

it isn't working for me!! it's been like 2 years. have you figured it out??

I have figured out a solution for this

1) copy the playlist link into safari or whatever search engine you use

2) double tap a word and highlight the description up to roughly the profile picture

3) copy and paste it into the notes app

4) the profile picture may have pasted too but you can just remove it

5) the full description should be there

6) if not, try highlighting even further down

I hope this helped you guys and Spotify seriously it’s been two years. It’s 2022 and you don’t even have a read more button ridiculous.

This issue is there from a year, i made an playlist today and wrote a decent description but then i saw that no one is able to read the description that's very disappointing, don't know why Spotify is not solving this issue, they just need to provide a "see more" & "see less" button over there, don't know what thing is stopping them to write 30-50 line of more coding.

Seriously, if you’re not going to show all the characters then impose a character limit.

So there’s no fixes to it right now but I’ve found if you highlight the whole page, click the arrow > on the copy bar to see the next bar of options and then choose the speak button, it’ll say what’s in the full description even if you can’t see it.

I know you can see the descriptions if you go on a laptop for Spotify

It’s been 3 years since this post and nothings changed yall are terrible

Soooooo, what? 😂 I’ve been wondering about the playlist description thing for a few months ever since I started making playlists. Only to find this has been a problem everyone is experiencing for three years??? 😂. How can adding a ‘see more’ button be so difficult/easy to overlook. Why would you have the character limit of what’s displayed be way smaller than the character limit for how much you can write. Idk it’d just, it’d be nice is all, Spotify :’)

I know you can do it, I believe in you 👍

How has this not been solved yet? Unbelievable!

I came on here to try and find a solution to this problem, and was shocked to find that it has been 3.5 years since the first complaint of this issue. It seems the issue is known by Spotify, so I’m confused as to why it has not been handled yet. Yes you can copy and paste the description in notes on IOS, but that is no solution. It seems to be such an integral part of the platform, so I assume it should be important to Spotify’s customer experience? Hopefully this issue gets resolved soon.

I’m on iPadOS 16.7.1 and I too have this issue where the full playlist descriptions are cut off. We have a family subscription, surely you could have this solved in 3.5 years since the original post was made?

3 years and theres still no fix or description expand feature, this is crazy.

would really like to see a resolution to this—either limit description so creators aren’t wasting their time or add a see more feature to drop it down.

This still seems to be an issue even in 2024. Why hasn't this been changed yet?

Because Spotify are apathetic and have zero care about the user experience.

It was rhetorical, but yeah, I guess that's the correct answer, lol
