Playlist - partly online and partly offline

Playlist - partly online and partly offline

Hi,

I created a playlist on my computer and added some songs from my collection that are not on Spotify. When I use my iPad to use this playlist, I have to download the complete playlist (make it offline) to get the complete playlist, otherwise the songs that are not on Spotify won't be part of the playlist anymore.

My question is: Is it possible to only download the songs that are not on Spotify with my iPad (make them offline) and keep the rest online? My iPad only has limited storage and it takes lots of space to download complete playlists.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Regards,

Barry

Bump.

To my knowledge, there is no way to do that. Local files will only sync to your iPad from your desktop for offline playlists.

I have a playlist for an album that has since had 2 tracks made unavailable (they are both singles btw).  So to play the full album again I have these 2 tracks as local files on my PC.  No problem when playing the album playlist on my PC.

Playing the album playlist on my android shows those 2 tracks as unavailable no problem.  So to get the full playlist I have to download ("Make available offline" the full album playlist.  A waste of space really just for 2 missing tracks.  It downloads the whole playlist so Spotify must be storing and now getting the 2 missing tracks (that were local files on my PC) ok.  If Spotify has those tracks stored for use in my playlist then why don't they show already on my android?  Why can't I make available offline just part of a playlist?

What if I put those 2 song files on my android and then add them to the playlist as local files?  So there will be 2 lots of 2 local files in the playlist - 2 working when the playlist is played on the PC, and 2 on the android.  Will that work?  At least I only need to have 2 files stored on my android instead of the whole playlist stored there offline?

Uh oh!  There is no option to add local files in the settings page on my android phone.  Why is this...?
