Playlists 'Loading'

Solved!

Playlists 'Loading'

Never had any issues before but I today created a new playlist on my Mac however it seems to not want to sync to my iPhone with a playlist called 'Loading' appearing. Any help greatly appreciated. Have reinstalled Spotify app on iPhone and cleared cache on Mac.

I'm having the same problem with two of my problems and i'm not sure how to fix the problem.

Have you tried copying the tracks to new playlists like above?

I just wanted to say that this is exactly how I fixed my problem (tech support was VERY responsive with emails, way to go guys!).

I had all but given up hope, but now I'm back in business!

I am having the same problem described above with playlists getting stuck "loading."  Can you apply the fix to my account?

Thanks,

Dave

Hello,

Im having the same problem. I have a 3 playlist that say loading....

What is the solution here?

Can you try copying the tracks from a playlist that is not working, into a new playlist on your computer, copying a maximum of 331 tracks at a time? There appears to be an issue with playlist synching on the desktop client with the Spotify servers when you go over that limit. It has been reported as an issue internally by Spotify and it has hopefully been patched in the current version which will make it out to you soon.

Same issues here, 2/3 of playlists on iPhone in "Loading..." mode after removing and reinstalling the spotify app 😞

The following two solutions seem come up in this tread; are these confirmed?

- having a corrupt device list removed by spotify support from you account

- optimizing playlists by spotify support

If someone from spotify is reading along, feel free to do some experiments because my account is pretty much worthless to me now...

(case #00750415).

@Peter: tried the copy to a new playlist that you suggested (8 tracks), now I have two playlists in "Loading..." 😉

Whenever I restart Spotify (close the app and start it again) most of my playlists hang in a "Loading..." state. When I'm on WiFi it's pretty fast to load them but when I'm on 3G it can take several minutes before my playlists are available. Even worse is when I don't have an active internet connection (for example when abroad); the playlists won't load at all. Because of that I can't even play the songs I have made available offline, which totally defeats the purpose of having a paid subscription.

I ran a test to see how many playlists are affected: I have completely removed the Spotify app, rebooted my phone and reinstalled the Spotify app. After that I opened Spotify and synced the playlists. Then I quit Spotify, disabled all active connections (GPRS/3G/WiFi) and restarted the Spotify app... Result: 49 playlists stuck in "Loading..." and 11 playlists displayed normally.

I have had my subscription for quite a while and although I never had tons of playlists I did use Spotify on a large number of devices. Could you please perform maintenance on my account (delete corrupt device list and optimize playlists) so that I can once again enjoy Spotify even when in offline mode?

Thanks!

@wvandenburg - there's a thread here regarding offline playlists which sounds a lot like what you're seeing.

Yeah, I was just reading that. But to me it sounds that this is a different issue. The topic you mention reads:

1. Have you made a playlist available offline which you could not play without any internet connection?
2. Have you made a playlist available offline which constantly downloads when you start Spotify?

The problem is not that I can't play the files in the playlist, the problem is that the playlist won't even load. When I star the songs in one of the playlists that hangs at "Loading..." I can still play them from the Starred section on the playlist screen, but that's only a workaround and not a very good one at that (because I use the star function for other songs).

Point two mentioned above sounds to me like it is trying to re-sync the songs in the playlist, not the playlist itself. That's not the issue either, the songs in my playlists are still synced to my device but when I don't have an active internet connection the playlist itself won't load so there is no way of opening those songs.

I have read all 7 pages in this topic and I see that several members of the Spotify staff have had success performing manual maintenance on users experiencing a very similar issue to mine so that is what I would like to request the Spotify staff to do to my account.

EDIT: I have just read the description again and I realise I might have misread it the first time. I will post in the other topic but I still hope that the Spotify staff can perform manual maintenance on my account so that it will be resolved quickly.

hi.....i saw that Meredith had fixed some of ur accounts....can you fix mine too?  it says waiting on my iphone....will not make offline playlist.......thank you so much

Hey @austevoll ! Welcome to the community 🙂

Would you be able to describe the behaviour you are getting in a little more detail?

I'm not 100% sure you are having the same issue as discussed here.

I am having the same issue, I had this before and just leaving it for a while worked. However it is not working anymore, If there is a fix that can be applied to my account that would be wonderful.

I am getting the same problem on Nexus 4. It just shows my playlist as loading.. This occurred when I removed a song from the playlist that the was still playing.

Same problem here... it seems that spotify needs to connect to internet before downloading the playlists... even if theyre synched to be available offline

im terrified since im going to a very long trip and wont be able to connect daily let alone everytime i want to use spotify

ps. this started few weeks ago

It might be worth a clean reinstallation and then resyncing your offline content to see if that makes any difference?

I am having a simular issue where the loading animation just sits there while it attempts to load my playlists.  I go on my other devices (PC, iPhone5s) and they are present.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Which device are you having issues on?

The device experiencing this issue is a iPhone 4s

Strange, does restarting your device by holding the home and lock buttons together until the apple logo appears on the screen make any difference?

It seems that this hasn't been an issue for a while, but all of my playlists on Windows, iPhone 5c and iPad 2 are all stuck on Loading... Is there any solution for this?
