Search need an "exact match"

Search need an "exact match"

When I search for the band "The The" it doesn't show up in suggestions. I guess i have to browse through almost all bands starting with "The" 😉
The band IS on spotify. Can fx be found by searching the Song "Infected"
Had the issue with several other seatches as well, but I guess this is a pretty good example. I have only observed it using ios, so dont know if it is general.

Great idea.  Millions of us already know this syntax when we do our Google searches

Hey there!
I've tested this on Desktop and the Android app and it just shows up "The the" artist as top result, which is pretty much the exact matching you've requested. It must really be an iOS issue then, therefore I've moved it here to gather further information and to see if anyone else got those problems.

What Spotify version do you use? Do you have any more examples to test it out? Thanks!

I have the same problem... I'm running a small genre specific spotify playlist page where I regularly have to search for lesser known artists. No, I did actually mean to write Tarin, not Train. And I have almost given up on finding artists with names such as Lydia, Ben, I etc. I use the artist:, album:, track:, year: function A LOT, but sometimes the name of one or more of those is different in my source compared to the names used on spotify, which makes it a lot more difficult to search. A way to narrow down the massive results to exact matches would be gold!
