Shuffle play is not random

Whenever I hit shuffle on my playlist the same thing happens; first song plays, second song plays, then the first song plays again! I then hit skip next and within the next five songs, second song plays again. Anyone experienced this? I believe this has to be a bug in the IOS app, version 5.5.0. There is no newer version available in my country.
