Song share on WhatsApp - cover image not showing

My Question or Issue

When sharing a song on WhatsApp, the cover art no longer shows. Just the link. This is both sharing as a copied link or  clicking WhatsApp in the song share options.

I’ve deleted and reinstall both apps.
Cleared cache in Spotify.

When sharing links from other things, like a news site, a cover image appears in WhatsApp as normal. 

Any ideas??

- Does this happens with music and podcasts?

- Your device info (make/model) and OS version

- Exact Spotify version

Could you check if the error occurs with other types of content? Try sharing an artist, album, episode or a playlist instead to see if you'd get the link to unfurl. It's also worth trying with another device, if available.

In case the issue persists, please share the requested details by @OscarDC so we can investigate further.

The same issue is happening for me now and as an artist it’s an issue- I need to be sharing my new songs with thumbnail images. 

I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted my phone, cleared my cache.. it’s an iPhone 12 and the Spotify version is 9.0.10.409.

Hey everyone! I want to share Spotify links through GB WhatsApp, and noticed that sometimes the preview (like the album art, song title, and artist name) doesn’t show up when send a link. It just sends a plain text link instead of the usual rich preview.

Has anyone else run into this issue? I’m not sure if it’s something to do with GB WhatsApp, but I wanted to check if it’s happening to others as well.

If anyone has found a fix or workaround for this, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
