Songs won't sync for offline play

I have the 30-day free trial for the Spotify Premium. Is it why I'm unable to sync music in my iPod?

There is no difference between being on the premium trial and being on full premium in terms of features. The 30-day trial is actually part of a premium subscription.

What type of iPod are you using?

If its an iPod touch, just download the spotify app and log into your account, your playlists will be waiting for you. 

If its an iPod classic/nano/shuffle, you can only use the Spotify client to sync local tracks which you own to the device, not music from the spotiify online catalogue as spotify music requires a spotify application to decrypt the tracks in order to prevent piracy.

It's a shame that's not very clear right from the start. I've just bought an ipod classic on purpose to sign up for premium and now I get to know that there's no use, it does the same thing as all other programmes... Not cool.
