Spotify Connect on Ipod Touch 3G (IOS 5.1.1)

Hi everyone!

Thanks to https://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-iOS-iPhone-iPad/How-to-get-an-App-compatible-to-older-iOS-vers... I was able to install the latest possible version of Spotify on my Ipod Touch 3G (IOS 5.1.1). I was disappointed to find out that "connect" was not yet available in this version. I'm looking for a solution to remote control my stereo without having to leave my phone or laptop close to my stereo and I was hoping to be able to use my ressurected Ipod Touch for this purpose. Does anone of you have any suggestions?
