Spotify Connect works poorly with Yamaha Music Cast

My Question or Issue

So my Yamaha WXA-50 started having issues playing with Spotify connect just recently. It worked fine for years but now every input is very delayed or not registered at all. Most of the time I can´t even press play or pause in the Spotify app and even in the Music Cast app it´s kind of buggy.

I did even reset the receiver but this didn´t improve the situation.

Hey @Timetam,

Thank you for your post here in the Community.

Can you perform a clean reinstall of the app? This step will clean the cache and corrupted files from previous installations that can cause issues.

If that doesn't do the trick - can you let us know which version of the app you have?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Cheers!

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

I did reinstall the app which helped to improve the connection but the problem with the delayed input is still present but only when skipping songs.

Everytime I skip a song there is a delay which in itself could be totally normal but then if I skip multiple songs at a time and the Yamaha didn't skip even one song it will disable the skip function in the spotify app. My guess is that the iPhone Spotify app is bugged since Spotify connect works perfectly fine on my computer.

My version of the app is 8.5.86.739

Hey again @Timetam

Thanks for the information you sent.

We recommend trying with a different network, for example creating a hot spot on your phone and using that - if that's possible.

Additionally, could you log out > restart your phone > log back in?

We also suggest that you take a look at these steps to make sure everything is fine from your end.

Cheers - Let us know how it goes!
