Hi.
I started using spotify to sync music to my 5th generation ipod nano because I mostly prefer it to iTunes. I only sync specific playlists to my iPod because it has limited space. I have found that after using my iPod with spotify for a few weeks a pretty serious bug arises. Whenever I connect my iPod to my PC Spotify Crashes. It does not give a descriptive error, just a generic "Spotify has stopped working" error message.
After I restart spotify I find that one or more of the playlists that I have set to sync to my device are no longer syncing. I mean that if i select my device in spotify, on the list of playlists a playlist that I had been syncing to my device is no longer selected to sync.
If I re-check the box to sync this playlist again, spotify will actually copy the entire playlist again to my device. This is a long process and wastes space on my device. I will have to wipe it and re-sync if this keeps happening.
So I have two problems here
- Spotify crashes when my iPod is connected
- Spotify seems to be corrupting the data on my iPod
Is there a way I can collect logs and submit them to the team? This bug is pretty irritating. This has been happening for months.
Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂
Since this sounds like it might require a bit of digging and spotify technical know-how, I would suggest you get in touch directly using the online contact form and the technical support team can deal with your case from there.
If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks for your help Peter.
I've contacted spotify customer service and the issue has not yet been resolved. I've attached the thread so you can read through the conversation. You may also view the transcript at this link: http://i.imgur.com/oq2DjXR.png
I apologize for taking so long to follow up, as I have been busy. I'm also very sorry to report that Spotify customer service has been less than helpful. After uninstalling, reinstalling, re-syncing and trying to work with them, they seem to be dropping the issue.
Is anyone else using an iPod nano, iPod classic, having issues like this?
I will report back if I hear from "Customer service" again.
Thanks,
Geoff
Thanks for the update @GeneralDisarray , the dropping of the issue hint isn't what I like to see! If its an issue, in my eyes they should collect all relevant information and open it as a bug - but what do I know 😛

Hey, I agree.
It's mildly frustrating. It just feels like there arent' any perfect options for syncing music to my iPod. I haven't used iTunes in over a year, so I guess the interface may have improved. Adding local files manually is such a hassle though.
Spotify is so close to perfection. It's super easy to find whatever song I want and on first run it syncs correctly. It just seems like there are a number of technical issues that are getting harder for me to ignore.
*thread bump*
Has this ever been resolved?
i have the same problem in that spotify crashes when I connect my ipod nano. if anyone figures out the problem, please share.
I'm having the same issue with my 5th gen. It told me to restore, so I did. Now it just crashes when the ipod is connected.
