Spotify app on iPhone can't connect through WIFI

Hi,

I just noticed recently my Spotify app on iPhone 7 can't connect through WIFI.

at login when WIFI is enabled I get: "Could not establish a connection to the Spotify service..."

If I disable the WIFI it works fine. I play a song, re-enable the WIFI, disable 3G signal and it continue to work.

I then close the app, re-open and I again I cannot connect.

I uninstalled/reinstalled the app multiple time as suggested in previous topic and no luck. Any idea?

I then close the app, re-open and I again I cannot connect. Really anoying!

app versdion: 7.9.0.545

I am having the same issue....I can't play any music on WiFi - I followed the same steps as chrissj9. Very frustrating - what am I paying the monthly fee for????

ok new info regarding this issue.

Last night I went to my sister's house and I tried Spotify on my iPhone using her WIFI and it worked all the time. 5 different tries and no problem at all.

So the only difference is she has an old WRT54G wifi router and I use an ASUS RT-AC68U.

I tried the 2.4Ghz and the 5 Ghz network and it makes no difference here since with both I cannot connect the app.

So this issue seems to be related to the config of the WIFI network but I will have to compare both settings to find out.

Stay tuned...

i got the same issue, even though connecting to the spotify website. i can only connect with my data usage.
