Spotify crashing when I click Shuffle Songs [Premium]

I have a playlist with ~48 tracks.  Sometimes when I click Shuffle Songs at the top the app hangs for a long time then it tries to play the first song.  The song never plays and the only way I seem to be able to restore playback is by shutting my phone down and turning it back on.  Just killing the app does nothing.  This happens to me almost once a day.  Please advise what is going on with this.

Hi. As a first step, please try reinstalling spotify. If the issue recurs, we can try some other troubleshooting.

I am having the same issue. Its a hang up and crash with trying to start a shuffled playlist or skipping through songs once within the playlist. 

No basic troubleshooting has really helped this. I have never had a prior issue of this sort either in previous iterations.
