Spotify data storage size on iPhone

I recently installed Spotify on my iPhone 5s (iOS 7.1.1) and have a premium subscription. It's been running fine, but one thing I have noticed is that the app is taking up approx 0.5GB of space on the phone (I noticed this as I have just ran out of space on the device).

The app itself is only about 40MB and I only have one album saved for offline play. I don't have any playlists created or anything.

Does anyone know how/why it's taking up so much space on the phone?

I would also like to add my support for getting this fixed, please. I also have a 16GB iPhone (which should be plenty!) and was surprised to discover that the app was using up half a gig of space (which is nothing compared to a lot of people, I see from this thread). I actually thought I'd downloaded a heap of stuff without realising it and spent ages trying to figure out what, exactly!

So yeah, just a "flush cache" button would be nice. Or have the option to clear it automatically on restart, or whatever. Thanks.

' had the same issue, ' knocked down 1 G to 0.1 G of Spotify storage by deleting and reloading from App Store. Yeah it's clunky but do it only every few months it won't seem as bad.
