Spotify search not working anymore

Spotify search not working anymore

my Spotify search stops working after a few minutes, this happens on LTE and on WiFi  I have left my iPhone doing that for over 2 hours and it does nothing (see attached file), to fix it I need to force close the app and open it again, how can I fix this?

Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, please try a clean reinstall of the Spotify app.

I have tried both methods several times but with no success 😞

Thanks for trying those steps! Could you also make sure Offline Mode is set to 'Off' by going to Home in the Spotify app > Settings > Playback > Set Offline to 'Off'?

my iphone says " Connecting " but nothing happends

Gotcha! Could you try having a friend or family member log into your account on their device?

I experience exactly the same issue.

 

Steps:

  1. Go to the general search tab
  2. Enter some text
  3. Press return
  4. Loading indicator is shown for unlimited time

 

It happens both on WIFI and mobile network.

I am not in offline mode.

 

I experience this for many months. I experience this very often. Is there a way that I can provide debug data?

Do you mind trying a clean reinstall by following the relevant steps for your device in this Spotify Answer?

 

Hopefully that should do the trick, but if you're still having trouble, do you mind providing us with the following info:

  • exact Spotify version
  • your device + OS version?

In the meantime, if you could also try logging in on a different device using the same account, that would help us confirm that this is an issue specific to your device rather than an account issue.

Hi Peter,

I've already tried the clean reinstall. I'm using Spotify v8.5.41 on an iPhone 7 with iOS 13.3. I think the issue can be somehow caused when switching from mobile internet to WiFi and vice versa.

I am using the same account on a Windows 10 Notebook and the search is working fine.

The clean reinstall worked for me. Spotify is working again as it should be, Thanks !!!
