Spotify starts playing halfway through most recent song on CarPlay

My Question or Issue

This issue started when I was trying to build a playlist, so I was going through my library sorted by title. Now no matter what song I’m listening to when I stop, if I don’t close the app, when I plug my phone into my car and CarPlay opens Spotify starts automatically playing my most recently added song, anywhere between 35 seconds to a minute and a half into the song. It’s extremely irritating.

Spotify seems to be resuming a recently queued or cached track when triggered by CarPlay auto-launch, especially if the app wasn’t fully closed. This issue is related to      My BK Experience

To start investigating this behavior, would you mind confirming how you are connecting your phone to your Car Stereo? Is it with a Bluetooth connection, Wi-Fi or using an AUX cable?

Also, have you tried to perform a clean reinstall of the app on your phone to see if the issue persists when you connect it to your car? If you haven't tried it yet, we'd recommend following the steps mentioned in this article. 

Lastly, could you check if it happens the same if you connect a different device to your car?
