Hello,
Starting this morning, I began having a problem with the iPhone spotify app STOPPING BETWEEN EACH SONG played in a playlist. At the end of each song the album artwork changes and the new status bar comes up but the small circle never showsup at the beginning of the bar. If I forward to the next track it will begin playing right away but it will again stop before the next song plays.
I have a premium account, and I am running iOS 5.1.1 on an iPhone 4.
I have enabled and disabled gapless playback as well as enabled and disabled crossfade. I have also turned offline mode on and off. So far, as of this morning (yesterday it was fine) this is occuring on all my playlists. I have the newest spotify which was installed 3 days ago. No problems over the past 3 days.
I have had no problems until this point.

Gad this is anoying.
Both me and my girlfriend is having the exact same problem. I have acturally switched back to the "Music" app because i don't want to pop into spotify between each song.

I am having the same problems. Very frustrating. I really don't want to stop using this service, but it is not worth it the way it is working now.

It freezes randomly in the middle of a song , probably about every 40 second but not consistent. Definitely happens when I have a message or text comes in on my phone and at the end of every song.
Device Version
iPhone running iOS 5.1.1, model MD277LL (not sure what generation)

As I mentioned above, it happens randomly, but I also noticed that it happens every time I get a message or text or something come into my phone.
Since you asked for feedback, I took the time to try to find a pattern to the stoppage, Here is what I found:
Generally, the first stoppage is right at 1:30 seconds into each song, give or take 5 seconds. Not all songs stopped a second time, but when they did it was usually about 1:30 seconds later. This was especially true when songs were a bit longer (>3:50). One song was 3:34 long and only stopped once.

Yeah!!! Update on 8/8/2012 worked.
I think I will go for a long walk and just leave my iPhone in my pocket, rather than having to hold it the whole time to keep hitting the play button:)

Not for the iOS 4.x app. I checked and there's no update.
the update for the ipad app did not resolve the issue
songs still stop halfway through and then no other songs can be played until you fully close the app and reopen, and then it just craps out again...
This thread is about Spotify not going on after a song finishes. I don't have to close the app to start the next song. Pressing play again starts the next song.
Perhaps the other issue being mentioned is related to the thread topic.
Hi robo - Can you confirm you've upgrade to our latest release which came out just this week?
If you haven't already, please perform a clean reinstall. Let us know if you continue to have this issue with 0.5.4.
Mine does the same thing. I play a song or album or playlist or anything and after the song is done spotify stops playing until i hit next or hit stop and then play. I have uninstalled and done a clean install. Problem still persists 😕
Oh and might I add this is on a Windows 7 64-bit PC not a mobile device.

I had the same issue for the last 2 weeks only on my iphone 4 with iOs 5.1.1, still working good on my macs. Today I have changed the streaming quality and it seems to do the trick, for how long I don't now
Afterwards I realized that there was a new version on the App Store so I upgraded and it still working 🙂

I have the same problem on a notebook runing Window vista. Sometimes it palys many songs in a row but mostly it stops after a song. Or after a song the Spotify ad plays then it stops. I can start it again but after one song on playlist it stops. If I have shuffle on or offf makes no difference. This was a fresh install
I am still having this problem. In off-line mode, several songs (3-5) will play in succession and then the player stops advancing.
This unreliability is very annoying when driving in the car.
I have IOS 5.1.1 and Spotify App v0.6.4.2 and Core v0.0.0.999.

what is going on here ...Spotify, you should be dealing with these problems , not leaving to your customers stabbing in the dark for solutions....deal with it
I just started having this problem too. Worked great for the firt couple of weeks then started freezing up half way through the songs. Sometimes if I slide the song ahead a couple second it'll start playing again. I have the paid version of Spotify and am finding myself going to free iheart or pandora to listen to music. I see from this thread that there has been a problem for over a year. Sounds to me like Spotify is telling us to go to their competitors because right now Spotify is NOT an options and I'm paying them every month.
I've had this issue for about a month and was thinking of canceling premium. Most songs wouldn't play at all and the ones which played went silent at around 1.20. I recently deleted the Spotify app from my Mac, I mostly use it on iPhone 6, iOS 9.2. Erased the app from the phone and restarted the phone again. Playback is at normal and automatic. The problem seems to be solved, been using it for a week with no issues, fingers crossed.
