My Question or Issue

I took a flight yesterday, and had downloaded my music.

On the flight I enabled Airplane mode (Bluetooth only)

Started Spotify

Began listening, via bluetooth headphones, to a downloaded playlist.

2-3 songs in, Spotify stopped playing music.

Spotify was still running, just not playing music.

Phone back was very hot.

The app became jittery (scrolling music jittered/couldn't keep up)

Trying to play anything, failed.

Killed app, restarted - still not playing.

After 10minutes I tried again. Worked. Then repeated the above 3 more times.

Also, I had no other apps running (in the background) at the time of the above.

Hey @sekrof,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

Are you able to consistently reproduce this behavior on your phone while in airplane mode?

Does the same happen, when not in airplane mode?

What's the Spotify version installed on the device?

Keep us posted,

Cheers!

When on the physical flight, yes. Happened 3 times before giving up and
watching a downloaded movie on Netflix instead.

Since returning home and trying to reproduce the fault in Airplane mode, no
WiFi, but with Bluetooth (exactly as per the physical flight), it doesn't
happen.

No.

8.7.50.416

Also, if relevant, the headphones are Sony WH-1000XM3. The app version is
9.1.0, and the headphones were updated to the latest software version 4.5.2

Are there any hidden log files that would help from either the system, or
Spotify app?

Hey @sekrof,

Thanks for your reply in this thread 🙂

Just to confirm, are you able to reproduce this behavior at the moment on your phone while in airplane mode? It'd be helpful to know if you can replicate this now that you're not on the flight.

When you can replicate this, can you send us a video recording of what you see? Please attach the videos in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload them to YouTube or Google drive and make them public, so we can visualize them.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Take care!
